Job Opportunity Killantringan Farm

Job Opportunity Advert Feb 2024

Job Opportunity: Stock Person Plus – Join Our Dynamic Team at Killantringan

Farm.

Are you brimming with enthusiasm, energy, and a love for all things farming? We are taking on new

land and need to expand our dynamic team. We are on the lookout for a vibrant team player to

become the newest addition to our crew at Killantringan Farm, situated on the stunning Galloway

coast with panoramic views of the Irish Sea (DG9 8TW).

About Us: At Killantringan Farm, we take pride in our expanding herd of 100% pasture-fed

Aberdeen Angus cattle and flock of 600 breeding ewes.

We are trialling a small out-door pigĀ enterprise, a few free-range laying hens and our vision extends to the possibility of introducing

pastured poultry and a no-dig vegetable market garden.

Utilizing regenerative techniques, we are committed to producing delicious, nutrient-dense food and embracing an agroecological approach to

farming. We also prioritize wildlife, striving to provide a suitable environment for all domestic and

wild animals and diverse flora and fauna to flourish.

Our Farming Lifestyle: Immersed in a pasture-based system, we rotate our cattle and sheep

across pasture, hill, and cliff lands.

We are embarking on a path to regenerate the soil and produce

high-quality meat from livestock on natural diets. As part of the Dunskey Estate, managing extensive

beautiful mature woodlands, guest lodges and hosting hospitality events, our farm is an integral

component of this thriving ecosystem.

The Role: This full-time, diverse role adapts with the seasons, offering a dynamic and hands-on

experience.

As our Stock Person Plus, your responsibilities will include:

Moving, feeding, and tending to cattle, sheep, and other future livestock enterprises.

Setting up and relocating portable electric fencing and water infrastructure.

Daily livestock stewardship.

Cleaning and routine maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.

Contributing to seasonal farm activities: lambing, calving, bale carting, muck moving, livestock turn-out,

etc.

Assisting on other farm and estate enterprises.

The Ideal Candidate: The right person for this role might have:

Experience in handling livestock.

An interest in regenerative farming practices.

Willingness to learn new skills.

Ability to operate farm machinery.

While prior knowledge is beneficial, a genuine passion for the role is equally valued.

Accommodation available.

Competitive salary.

How to Apply: Ready to embark on this farming adventure? Send your CV to our farm manager,

Harry Morgan, at harry.morgan@killantringanfarms.com.

Join us at Killantringan Farm, where every day brings new challenges and triumphs in the world of

regenerative agriculture!
